To accelerate the countries fast and sustainable socio-economic development, the role of science and technology cannot be over emphasized. Better application of technologies can improve many aspects of our development agendas—from pest-resistant crops to less wasteful food processing; from prenatal care and mothers health to the prevention and treatment of diseases; from reduction of environmental contaminants to cleansing of water; and from more consistent electricity to more effi cient and inexpensive communication and transportation systems almost every development area of the country including governance and export promotion is inter-channeled with national Science & Technology capabilities.
